When Michael V. and Iya Villania-Arellano say they are excited to work on GMA's "Lip Sync Battle Philippines" season 3, know that it's not merely, well, lip service.

According to them, the audience should expect the musical-reality competition to have more outrageous, amusing and even more electrifying performances every week. What adjectives!
And this time, the upgraded contest has the 3-way battle thematic episodes of intense head-to-head challenges between celebrity guests.
The game pits contestants against each other in a lip sync battle for two rounds. They can lip sync the song/s of their choice. Then the crowd will determine the winner of the battle after the two rounds have been completed. The winner gets the bragging rights to be the Lip Sync Battle Champion and gets the Lip Sync Battle Championship Belt.
It's a "grander" season alright, both stars crowed.
"Dati limited sa dalawa lang na one-on-one, ngayon meron ng 3-way battles and 4-way battles kasi napapanuod namin 'yung battle sa US at meron na silang ganu'n kaya dapat meron din tayo," Michael V. said.
"Filipino tayo eh. Galing kaya natin manggaya," he added in jest.
Viewers can also expect guest color commentators. Then there are the returnee players who took the competition seriously but lost and so they now want to redeem themselves.
"Talagang sineseryoso nila 'to. Magjo-join talaga ulit sila, they will come back with a vengeance," she explained. "They really want to be able to take it to the championship round."
Michael V. added there are repeater participants who joined then as partners but now returns as rivals.
Candidates
If it were up to him, Michael V. wants phenomenal love team Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza to join the show.
Iya's dream picks? GMA News anchors Mike Enriquez and Mel Tiangco.
"Alam kong impossible pero nakakatuwa lang isipin," she explained, joking, "Magagalit si Tita (Mel) sa akin baka last day ko na sa 'Chika Minute.'"
"Imagine mo si Sir Mike naka-harness," Michael V. quipped.
Now, if Iya and Michael were the contestants, who do they want to compete with, we asked.
Well, Iya has her eyes on singer-actress-dancer Rochelle Pangilinan-Solinap. However, Iya was quick to concede saying "alam kong palaban siya, competitive and talented."
For Michael V. it would be the GMA Network chairman & CEO, attorney Felipe L. Gozon and President Rodrigo "Rody" Roa Duterte.
"Magkakaalamanan na," he said in jest. "Pero kung hindi pwede, kahit sino na lang."
He revealed he picked the two as "mag-a-ambisyon ka na rin lang eh de 'yun na para matindi kaagad."
Tips
Hosting the show for the third time, Michael V. and Iya have pointers for the contestants.
"Kailangan career-rin nila," he said. "Kailangan maisip nila 'yung hindi naiisip ng kalaban. Kailangan gawin nila 'yung hindi ine-expect ng kalaban para talagang kabahan at manginig 'yung kalaban nila."
Iya advises the non-winners "'wag na lang masyadong dibdibin."
"Kasi 'pag sa sobrang kina-career nila makikita mo. Pangiti-ngiti sila pero 'yung totoo alam mong na di-disappoint sila kasi 'Kinareer ko 'yun eh.' So, just have fun," she explained.
"Enjoy-in na lang nila," Michael V. tipped.
The third season of "Lip Sync Battle Philippines" starts airing today on GMA-7.
