Mighty-Baliwag outlasts Gamboa

Joseph Yeo (MB file photo) Joseph Yeo (MB file photo) Mighty-Baliwag outlasted Gamboa Coffee in an emotional semis duel, 83-79, and forged a title duel with the Mighty Sports All-Stars Friday night in the 5th Republica Cup at the Malolos Convention Center in Bulacan. Former PBA star Joseph Yeo and veterans Chito Jaime and Larry Rodriquez came through with huge baskets in the crunch to take the fight out of the Coffee Makers in a see-saw battle. The winner-take-all match between Baliwag’s Mighty Sports and Caesar Wongchuking’s Mighty Sports is set today also at the same venue. Wongchuking’s Mighty Sports, seeking its third title, is backstopped by import Alejandro Dennison, Ola Odeogu, ex-pro Jerwin Gaco, University of the Philippines hotshot Paul Desiderio and NU’s Matt Salem.
