Reigning tournament MVP MJ Perez stood at the forefront of the Cargo Movers' sustained attack with 15 hits while American buddy Kennedy Bryan, top locals Aby Maraño, Cha Cruz and Kim Fajardo made timely plays in their 89-minute demolition of the lackluster HD Spikers. It was the third straight victory and fourth overall in five matches for F2 Logistics, which showcased another defensive clinic by slowing down Cignal's touted reinforcements, American Stix Horton and Bosnian Sonja Milanovic. “I think game by game, we’re getting better in terms of our connection. We’re getting confidence too since this is a big victory for us,” said Perez, who capped her offensive brilliance with a big defensive stop on Milanovic’s off-speed attack for the game-winning point. The HD Spikers hardly gave themselves any favor as well by accounting for 28 unforced errors, 12 more than their counterparts, as they suffered their second straight loss and dropped to 2-3, in a tie with two-time tourney titlist Foton Tornadoes. In contrast, the Cargo Movers dominated on all fronts. With Perez and Bryan leading the charge, they made 35 attacks, blocked four attempts and even delivered eight service aces. “It was really important because we have many games coming up. We have to be mentally-ready, one hundred percent,” said the Venezuelan star, impressed with their vastly-improving chemistry under interim coach Arnold Laniog. After a tight opening set, F2 Logistics dominated the next two frames and didn’t give Cignal any chance to get on its groove, even racing to repeated double-digit leads in the decisive set.
