Arm yourself with the Celeteque Dermoscience Cavalry Cleanse , moisturize and protect your skin from the harmful rays of the sun.
There are three things women must do daily. Cleanse, moisturize, and most important, protect the skin from the sun. According to leading dermatologists, these are the cardinal rules women, as early as in their 20s must observe religiously to slow down the hands of time. But with so many beauty products advertised, peddled, and sold in the market, how can we know which is best suited to our needs? The answer simply is: We can only know the efficacy of a product once we try it ourselves.
Like Tiana in The Princess and the Frog, I’ve had to kiss quite a few amphibians before I found royalty. Here are some of my favorite skin care products.
As far as cleansers go, I like three and they come at different price points. Orogold’s 24K Vitamin C Cleanser is packed with powerful antioxidants and enriched with vitamin C and gold particles. It provides a gentle foaming action that leaves the skin energized and refreshed. At a pricey P5,000 a bottle, the cleanser delivers more than dirt removal. Fine lines and wrinkles are diminished as well. I love its citrusy smell and the tight feel of my skin after washing my face in the morning. Mary Kay’s TimeWise three-in-one cleanser (P1,175) is a constant in my bathroom sink. Not only does it clean my face, it also hydrates, firms, and reduces the appearance of wrinkles. Last on my list is Celeteque Dermoscience Hydration Gentle Exfoliation Facial Wash (R140). This is a staple in my travel kit. This product delivers results fast! It safely removes dead skin cells and is packed with dual vitamin nourishing beads infused with vitamin C and E that leave the skin firm but supple.
Moisturizing can be a tricky thing. There is no magic potion that will serve as a quick fix for everyone. Women have to take into account their specific skin type (oily, dry, normal, and sensitive) and the climate they live in. To know your skin type, examine your T-zone at the end of the day. Living in a topical country, my skin teeters from being oily to being dry. Light cream moisturizers are best for me. Kiehl’s ultra facial cream (P3,000) has been in the market for decades and continues to enjoy popularity with women today. It was most effective in keeping my skin hydrated during my US trip. Back in Manila, it is light enough to wear without the sticky feel. Its ingredients include avocado oil and olive fruit oil which give the skin a healthy glow. For the more budget conscious, there’s Celeteque Hydration Light Facial Cream (P350). Being a mom on the go, I like that this product is both a moisturizer and a sunblock.
Sun exposure accelerates aging, and causes breakouts and in some cases skin cancer. Dermatologists recommend wearing sunscreen with an SPF of 30 for indoor use and SPF 50 for outdoors.
Beauty must go hand in hand with confidence so I add skin whitening as an essential vanity product. I recently discovered Kojie San Sleeveless Ready, an antibacterial and antiperspirant that relies on the powerful lightening effects of kojic acid. After using it consistently for two weeks, my armpits became considerably lighter and smoother, too. At P99 pesos, it is the most affordable as it is effective in keeping odor at bay for 48 hours.
Ladies, remember that true beauty is gleaned not only from one’s outward appearance. It must be complemented with a kind disposition and intelligence. Here’s to looking, feeling, and doing our best, always!
