A comfy, lost-lasting partner for daily travels

JBL is doubling down on serious headgears. And the E65BTNC drives home a headphone with powerful audio.
The JBL E65BTNC is comfortable and durable. It features that trendy buzz word “Active Noise Canceling,” which lets blots out all external noise once you ignite the music to life. The audio is powerful and sharp. Though the E65BTNC was built for bass. The bass is both deep and resonating. If you’re after headphones with excellent bass, the E65BTNC is a sound option.
The left earcup is devoid of any buttons or anything interesting but its style. There is the microUSB port though. The right earcup is far more active and stingy of its occupants: Power and Bluetooth buttons, volumes up and down, and the play/pause. This is also where you would find the headphone jack, if you prefer or need to use the cord.
You should know using the cord doesn’t cut off the power. This is so you can continue using the noise cancelation feature. Obviously, battery life is extended a little this way. We weren’t able to confirm this ourselves but we were able to use the E65BTNC for five days with an hour or two commutes before we needed to charge it up again.
Bluetooth connectivity is quite impressive. You can stand about five meters away with the headphone from the audio source without stutters or interference. We were able to stand farther away and had zero problems.
The built-in mic is decent. We tested a voice memo app and did some calls using this device and it all worked pretty well. You can also bring out Siri and Google Now effectively.
Fresh from the box, the E65BTNC does not come with a traveling pouch. From a certain perspective we can understand why. You’ll never want to take off the E65BTNC. Why should you? You can literally listen to music for 24 hours with it. Okay, for reals though, JBL is simply that confident in the build and design of this headgear. For myself, I’d rather slip the headphone down to my neck, instead of putting it inside the pouch and then toss it in the back. It’s a process that requires too many steps, not to mention, a pouch can add to the bulk of your bag.
