Iloilo City – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Western Visayas ranked first nationwide last year in terms of operations carried out.
“For the first time in the history of PDEA-6, we ranked first all throughout the Philippines,” said PDEA Information Officer David Garcia.
“I concur with this. I was there during the command conference (in Manila),” added PDEA Information Director Derrick Carreon during the recent “Rehabinasyon” (Rehabilitate the nation) roadshow in Iloilo City.
The 221 operations PDEA launched in Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental netted shabu worth more than P10 million. In terms of weight, the seized shabu was more than a kilo.
Garcia is also confident Iloilo City will finally shed the “bedrock of illegal drug trade” and “shabulized” labels pinned by President Duterte.
The President’s intense drug war resulted in the deaths of alleged drug lords Melvin “Boyet” Odicta and Richard “Buang” Prevendido.
