Okada Manila calls off balloon dropping event

By MB Online Okada Manila has decided not to commence its supposedly record-breaking balloon dropping event at Cove Manila. This is also “in support of the Government’s campaign to protect and save the environment.” In the statement, Okada Manila said it coordinated with DENR after receiving its petition. But other festivities will still push through. “While the Balloon Drop event has been cancelled, the public is advised that the New Year’s Eve Countdown Party at Cove Manila and all other festivities in Okada Manila will proceed as scheduled and will not be affected,” the statement read. The said event drew flak from netizens and other environmental groups after its announcement. Cove Manila is the largest indoor beach club and nightclub in Metro Manila managed by Okada Manila.
