Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV on Saturday aired his disbelief on the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey baring a "very good" satisfaction rating for President Duterte, saying the "true" sentiments of the public would be reflected in the 2019 elections.

The opposition senator and staunch Duterte critic doubted the results of the SWS poll finding that Duterte garnered a net satisfaction rating of a "very good" +60 in the last quarter of 2018, with 74 percent of Filipino adults satisfied with the President’s performance, 15 percent dissatisfied, and 11 percent undecided.
"Sa hirap ng buhay ngayon at sa kaliwa't kanang kapalpakan ni Duterte ay walang maniniwala sa SWS survey na 7 out of 10 Filipinos ay masaya sa pamamahala nito (In these times of poverty and series of failures by Duterte, no one will believe that 7 out of 10 Filipinos are happy with his leadership)," Trillanes said in a statement.
"Either may sampling errors ito o 'di kaya ay ang mga nagsabi nito ay nakakaramdam ng takot (Either there are sampling errors or the respondents were afraid to be honest)," he claimed.
"Regardless, the true sentiments of the Filipino people will be known in next year's mid-term elections," the opposition lawmaker said.
Duterte's satisfaction rating in the SWS December poll was higher by six points in the third quarter’s +54 rating.
His ratings saw a 22-point increase in Metro Manila, which rose to +58 in December, from +36 in September.
The Chief Executive’s ratings also increased in Balance Luzon (from +49 to +52) and in Visayas (from +49 to +62).
As for his bailiwick Mindanao, Duterte's rating declined from +77 to +73, although it remained in the "excellent" grade.
