Maria Talia Concio of the @conciosisters had an advanced birthday celebration last December 16. Her actual birthday falls on December 28, and we all know how challenging it is to organize parties during the holiday season. “We celebrated it early so her classmates will still be in town,” shares mommy Carla. Initial plans were to fly off to Korea for her birthday, but her mom revealed that Talia requested for a birthday party at the last minute. “The theme is popstar. She wanted a Beanie Boo bears theme, but it was impossible to put it together since we had only 2 months. So I thought of popstar, since it is so Talia. She happily agreed.”
Musically-talented
According to mommy Carla, Talia is their little rockstar. “She’s also an artist by heart. She hears a song, then she plays it on the piano. She gets the first three notes without anyone teaching her,” shares the proud mom. So it was no surprise that the birthday girl requested to dance on stage. “It was her idea. She chose the song ‘Middle’ by Zedd Grey. Talia is our little dancer. She has the spunk and the moves.” This part of the program where she got to sing and dance is her mom’s favorite part of the party.

Birthday girl Talia had three changes, fitting for the little popstar.
One can see how giddy Talia was when she made her grand entrance, “She went down the stairs and all her friends were downstairs, screaming and hugging her, as if she’s a real popstar!” Other highlights of the party included play areas such as inflatables and Lego tables. They also had an accessory-making table headed by Asha, a 19-year-old girl who is diagnosed with Sturge Weber. She makes accessories to support her medical care.

Moms & Babies asked how life is with the little popstar. Mommy Carla answers, “It’s indeed a wonderful ride. Talia is a strong-willed kid. At a very young age, she knows what she wants. She will disagree often, because she knows that sometimes her ways are better. We let her be. We don’t want to change her. We are just here to love, support and guide her. We always tell her that it’s okay to be fierce as long as you are kind. Always be kind.”
