The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2018 will kick off its 44th year with eight movies on Christmas day.

Two horror films titled “Aurora” and “Otlum” will be included in this year’s lineup.
Directed by horror and suspense thriller director, Yam Laranas, the film Aurora narrates the story of Leana, who will be played by Anne Curtis, and her sister’s quest to search for dead bodies in a sunken ship, the Aurora, as troubled souls disturb them.
Set in an abandoned orphanage, Otlum, which translates to “Multo” if spelled backward, is a story of youthful people who try to unveil and explore the dark secrets of the haunted place.
Renowned comedian Vice Ganda collaborated with actors Dingdong Dantes and Richard Gutierrez in the film “Fantastica: The Princesses, The Prince, and the Perya.” Belat, portrayed by Vice Ganda, attempts to rebuild her family’s carnival and save it from bankruptcy.
Jack Em Popoy: The Puliscredibles” is an action-comedy film starring Coco Martin, Vic Sotto, and Maine Mendoza. The story tells the adventures of the police trio Jack (Martin), Emily (Mendoza), and Popoy (Sotto) as they worked together to bring down a syndicate.
The Gonzaga sisters, Toni and Alex, are in a love triangle situation with Sam Milby in the film “Mary Marry Me.” The sisters’ relationship will be tested when Jane (Toni) learned that her sister Anne (Alex) is set to marry her ex-boyfriend, Pete (Milby).
The romantic-comedy movie “The Girl in the Orange Dress” is about the unexpected love story of Anne, played by Jessy Mendiola, who spent the night with a celebrity heartthrob, Rye (Jericho Rosales).
“One Great Love” is another romantic-drama with a love triangle theme. Zyra Paez (Kim Chiu) finds uncertainty in her relationship with Mauricio (JC de Vera). Confused, Paez then started to develop feelings for her best friend, Dr. Ian Arcano (Dennis Trillo).
Veteran actors Eddie Garcia, Gloria Romero, and Tony Mabesa will star the film “Rainbow’s Sunset.” Ramon (Garcia) attempts to reveal his true sexuality to his family and feelings for his dying friend, Fredo (Mabesa).
