An official entry to the Pista Ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP) 2018 “Signal Rock” did not advance to the “shortlists in consideration” for the coming Oscars.
In the latest announcement of Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on their official website, the title was nowhere to be found in any of the nine categories, namely Documentary Feature, Documentary Short Subject, Foreign Language Film, Makeup and Hairstyling, Music (Original Score), Music (Original Song), Animated Short Film, Live Action Short Film, and Visual Effects.
It was a few months ago that Regal Entertainment confirmed on their official Facebook page that the Chito Roño’s film is the Philippines’ official entry to the Foreign Language Film category of the 2019 Academy Awards.
