Hit man kills vice mayoral bet

TOMAS, Pangasinan -- Immediately after the killing of municipal councilor Benjamin Oculto Jr., a vice mayoral bet here , the Pangasinan Police Office Director activated special investigation task group. Wilzon Joseph Lopez, provincial director said Oculto was shot to death by Nestor Vidal alias Jun-Jun, 40 years old, married and a resident of Brgy. Tipo, Hermosa , Bataan and three still unidentified assailants. Lopez said victim had just came out from Jesus Christ Church chapel around 10:40 a.m. on Sunday and while crossing the road toward his vehicle was shot by the suspect together with his companions . Only Jun Jun was arrested , an alleged member of gun-for-hire group. A hot pursuit operation against the other assailants resulted in the recovery of the get-away vehicle in San Manuel, Tarlac. Report said vehicle is owned by Emerson Padilla , 45, widower, car rental owner and a resident of Brgy. Ambonao, Calasiao. Pangasinan. The said vehicle was rented by Roberto Hizon , 53 , married, liaison officer of AMP Construction based in Cabanutuan City and a resident of Carmen East, Rosales, Pangasinan sometime in Dec. 14, 2018 and will be returned on Dec. 17, 2018 with rental rate of P1,200 per day. However, Roberto Hizon claimed that he rented the vehicle and left it parked at their residential compound in Rosales, Pangasinan on Dec 14, 2018 at about 8 a.m. but he discovered it to be missing before the said shooting incident. The two are now in police custody for custodial investigation.
