“On The Job 2 is currently filming and is due to complete principal photography by February, with a view to releasing it in the Philippines on June 12, 2019, the country’s independence day," it wrote.
The sophisticated movie will be followed by a five-part series.
According to Variety, Matti is also considering making a four-hour condensed version that will incorporate the film and the five-part TV series.
"That would be a feat,” Matti said.
And I don’t know if we can do something with it theatrically or in festivals," he added.
The first film, released on August 28, 2013, starring Joel Torre, Piolo Pascual, Gerald Anderson, and Joey Marquez, tells the story of politicians secretly hire convicts to conduct hits, then quickly return to prison.
Reports said John Arcilla, Vandolph Quizon, Dante Rivero, Dennis Trillo, Lotlot de Leon, Ricky Davao, William Martinez, and Eric Fructuoso will be included in the second movie.
