SINGAPORE — Miguel Tanfelix stresses he and Bianca Umali are still “comfortable” with each other despite rumors their love team might be on its way out.
The whispers started after Bianca was seen in photos together with Ruru Madrid.
To begin with, Miguel said, he and Bianca have a teleserye together due to start airing first quarter of 2019.
But has he stopped courting her, someone asked from out of the blue.
“I never started,” he corrected.
Apparently, Bianca’s grandmother said that even while the young actress is already 18 years old, love has to wait.
As for talk linking him to Kyline Alcantara, Miguel said they are simply “good friends” too.
“Kyline’s personality is easy to get. And you can trade jokes with her, no problem,” he said.
Asked if their friendship is affected by those who romantically link them to each other, Miguel said, “No, because it is not true to begin with.”
Bulletin Entertainment caught up with Miguel Tanfelix at the first-ever Asian Academy Creative Awards (AAA) in Singapore where he got his first international nomination for acting.
The actor feels blessed to have won in the Philippines, and to have been chosen to represent the country under the Best Actor in a Leading Role category for his performance on GMA’s “Kambal, Karibal.”
“I couldn’t ask for more,” he said. “In every show I do, I’m always passionate and give my 100 percent – and maybe that’s why they noticed me.”
Kyline was nominated in another category and so they were together in Singapore.
Before anyone could make an issue out of it, Miguel said Kyline “deserves it” and he attests to her “passion for her craft.”
With Christmas almost here, Miguel was asked about his holiday plans.
“I’m gonna celebrate with my family,” he shared. “Just that. Even without grand feast, as long as we’re together, that’s the most important thing.”
What’s his Christmas gift to himself?
“Maybe something to do with what I really like doing now, like, photography. So I might buy lens,” he said.
Miguel had just opened his milk tea business.

As for Kyline, what does the 16-year-old actress-singer look forward to in 2019? And will she still be single or in a relationship by then?
“I want to grow more,” she said. “And if a special someone will come into my life? It’s still a no,” she added with a laugh.
She wants to focus on her career that’s certainly on upward trajectory. Last month, Kyline shared on Instagram a photo of herself holding the trophies she won in 2018.
Kyline doesn’t mind working 24/7.
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays are for taping her latest teleserye “Inagaw Na Bituin;” then Tuesdays and Thursdays are for “Studio 7.” Sundays? “Sunday PinaSaya,” of course!
On representing the Philippines in the recently concluded AAA, Kyline said she was in “awe” of the whole thing.
“Before I would just imagine these things that’s why I’m very nervous but then win or lose its okay. It’s still a privilege to be here.”
But then Taiwanese actress Candy Yang (Xiao-li Yang) of “Roseki” won the award in their category.
Later, Kyline wrote online: “Thank you, Asian Academy Creative Awards for including me on your list of National Winners. It was such an honor to be included on your first awards night. It’s a very nice experience. I feel so honored to represent my lovely country, Philippines. Congratulations to all winners.”
