TEG announces major PH ticketing acquisition

TEG, Asia Pacific’s leading Ticketing, Live Entertainment and Data Analytics company, announced the acquisition of TicketWorld, a leading ticketing company in the Philippines. Founded in 1995, TicketWorld is a specialist live event ticketing provider for events of all sizes, offering a full suite of ticketing and marketing services. TicketWorld has ticketed a number of major international concert tours, including Guns N’ Roses “Not In This Lifetime” Tour and Katy Perry’s “Prismatic” Tour. TicketWorld has strong credentials in theatre ticketing, including The Lion King, Mamma Mia, Les Misérables and Wicked. TicketWorld provides ticketing services to many of the Philippines’ premier venues including Solaire Resort and Casino, Resorts World Manila, BGC Arts Center and the Cultural Center of the Philippines. The TicketWorld acquisition complements existing TEG businesses in Asia and is part of TEG’s fast-growing Asian expansion effort. TEG owns regional ticketing powerhouse Ticketek Australia and New Zealand, and has affiliated ticketing operations in Malaysia, Hong Kong and Macau. TEG CEO Geoff Jones said today’s announcement demonstrates the focus and commitment to expand the business into multiple Asian markets. “TEG is the largest integrated entertainment company in Asia Pacific and we have a track record and accumulated expertise in the live entertainment industry,” said Jones. “We see great opportunities in many Asian markets and our strategy puts us on course to becoming a truly pan-Asian promoter. “TicketWorld has built a great reputation and lasting relationships in the Philippines live entertainment industry. I am delighted that CEO and founder Bob Sewell and his management team will remain with the business under TEG ownership.” TicketWorld’s Bob Sewell has welcomed the acquisition. “I look forward to working with TEG and its team of entertainment professionals. The opportunity to grow the market in the Philippines by delivering more entertainment choices will be well received in the Philippines,” said Bob Sewell. TicketWorld will become part of TEG Asia, the division based in Singapore under Managing Director Brendon Bainbridge. “TicketWorld is a strong ticketing business that will be enhanced by having access to TEG’s ticketing technology, data-driven marketing expertise and e-commerce experience,” said Bainbridge. “We are delighted to see TicketWorld join the TEG Asia division and help expand our reach in the region.”
