LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – The Police Regional Office-Cordillera ism offering a P200,000 cash reward for information that will help solve and arrest the perpetrators behind the burning of two houses and three cottages in Sagada, Mountain Province earlier this month.
The houses, worth an estimated P4.7 million, were destroyed by improvised explosive devices and the succeeding fire.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection - Sagada, the incident is a case of arson.
Supt. Pelita Tacio, regional information officer, said the investigation conducted by the Explosive Ordnance Division (EOD) and the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) of PNP-PROCOR and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Sagada, found improvised explosive device fragments at the crime scene along with 13 dynamite sticks and a burned safety fuse.
She added that two plastic containers, which may have been filled with gasoline were found near the destroyed houses.
Tacio said that in the spirit of traditional “Lawa” and “Inayan” customs, the victim together with the Cordillera police are appealing to anyone with vital information on the incident to contact the Sagada police.
Identities of the informants will be kept confidential, the police assured.
