'Nanlaban' drug Suspect shot dead

By Anthony Giron IMUS CITY, Cavite - Police shot dead a drug suspect who reportedly resisted arrest and grabbed the gun of a police escort following a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Pasong Buaya I in this city.

(Jun Ryan Arañas / MANILA BULLETIN) Luisito Sarno, alias Chito, was brought to hospital but succumbed to gunshot wounds. A report released by the Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) on Friday said that the incidenmt took place while Sarno was being escorted by a poice officer upon his arrest in the neighborhood at around 3:50 a.m. Thursday. Five other suspects were arrested. The police shot Sarno as his escort was struggling for the gun that he grabbed, it was reported. Recovered from the suspects during the operation were nine sachets of shabu and Sarno’s pickup truck. Some 100 grams of shabu was also found in Sarno’s vehicle. The Imus police withheld other details on the buy-bust operation and the death mof Sarno. Senior Superintendent William M. Segun, Cavite police provincial director, ordered Imus police officer-in-charge Superintendent Jose Junar Alamo to submit a progress report on the operation.
