The top investigating unit of the Philippine National Police (PNP) has a new director following a reshuffle that was triggered by the retirement of the head of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).

Chief Supt. Amador Corpus will replace Director Roel Obusan who reached the mandatory retirement age of 56 on Tuesday.
Aside from the two senior officials, three more officers were also given new posts. Corpus has vacated the top post in Central Luzon as its regional commander and was replaced by Chief Supt. Jose Napoleon Coronel.
Chief Supt. Dennis Basngi will assume the post vacated by Coronel at the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).
Senior Supt. Manuel Abu, on the other hand, will be assigned to the PNP’s elite Special Action Force, while Senior Supt. Adolfo Samala Jr. was designated to be Abu’s replacement at the Directorate for Human Resource Doctrine Office.
