Acer expands server solutions with AltosCloud VDI

Sufficing the growing demand for storage solutions due to digitalization, Acer recently brought in the country the new AltosCloud VDI. The AltosCloud VDI is a flexible yet scalable desktop virtualization solution. Using Acer’s unique desktop virtualization technology, customers can easily setup and deploy a powerful yet flexible VDI environment in their organization. Aside from its compatibility with Acer Chromebooks, the AltosCloud VDI is also made to offer mobility for smartphones, tablets, and laptops. Among the key benefits of the said server include standardization, control, mobility, and recovery. During the said launch, Acer Philippines also shared some of its remarkable projects including its partnership with the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) which uses the company’s supercomputer for the school’s big data and AI operations. The Acer supercomputer is dubbed as the second fastest computer in the ASEAN region, according to the TOP500 list collected by ICCS. Aiming to further broaden its partnership with educational institutions, Carren Garcia, Acer Philippines Senior Channels Sales Manager for Commercial Business, said that the Acer AltosCloud VDI solutions are suitable especially for colleges and universities that offer gaming courses. “I see schools having the advantage in using the latest technology without spending so much. What’s perfect for them is with the current digital shift and the introduction of the gaming design courses in the academe sector is we have the Acer AltosCloud VDI 3D solution,” she said. “The Acer AltosCloud VDI 3D solution is an easy to deploy application in a virtual desktop environment so they don’t need to purchase expensive 3D machines,” she added.
