GrabFood graduates from beta test phase and was officially launched in Metro Manila last November 7. The food delivery app was initially launched as a beta service within the vicinity of BGC last June.
To mark the app’s official launch in Metro Manila, a digital dining experience dubbed as GrabFood Crave City was staged at the BGC Amphitheater from November 7 up to 10.
The company believes that food delivery comes as a natural extension of its transport offerings, as they expand GrabFood into ten (10) areas in Metro Manila: BGC, Makati City, Ortigas, San Juan City, Mandaluyong City, Quezon City, Manila, Taguig City, and Pasay City.
“We know Filipino consumers love a variety of food choices, so we’ve worked really hard over the past months to bring onboard their local favorite merchants onto GrabFood. Today, we have the widest selection of restaurants on GrabFood. Food remains a top household expenditure in the Philippines and we believe our on-demand food delivery service can really add convenience to consumers’ lives while opening up more income streams for merchant and delivery partners. It’s a win for all,” according to Demi Yu, Head of GrabFood Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia & Vietnam.
With 4,000 locally-based restaurants onboard, GrabFood now has the widest restaurant selection among the food delivery apps in the country. The company also claims that their user base increased ten times (10x) over the past three months.
GrabFood is currently being beta-tested in Cebu City and Mandaue City.
