BTS and their fans, K-pop girl group Loona and Malaysia’s Joe Flizzow bagged awards at the 2018 MTV EMA (Europe Music Awards) held at Bilbao Exhibition Centre in Spain on Nov. 4 (Nov. 5 in Manila).

At the ceremony, BTS won the Best Group award, triumphing over PrettyMuch and 5 Seconds of Summer.
On the other hand, BTS’ ARMY won the Biggest Fans award. Other nominees were fans of Camila Cabello, Selena Gomez, Shawn Mendes and Taylor Swift. Last August, BTS’ ARMY grabbed the Choice Fandom award at the Teen Choice Awards 2018.
Loona bagged the MTV EMA’s Best Korea Act against Pentagon, Golden Child, Cosmic Girls and (G)I-DLE. Previous winners of the award were G-Friend (2017), B.A.P (2016 and 2014), BTS (2015) and EXO (2013).
Flizzow emerged as the Best Southeast Asia Act winner. Other nominees were The Philippines’ IV of Spades, Afgan (Indonesia), Minh Hằng (Vietnam), Slot Machine (Thailand), The Sam Willows (Singapore) and Twopee Southside (Thailand).
“I am truly humbled and blessed I had the entire Malaysia supporting me. I hope this win will inspire the younger generation to never stop believing in their dreams and to work hard in trying to achieve their goals,” said Flizzow.
Performers at the MTV EMAs included Hailee Steinfeld, Nicki Minaj, David Guetta, Jason Derulo, Little Mix, Bebe Rexha, Halsey, Panic! at the Disco, Alessia Cara, Marshmello and “Global Icon” award recipient Janet Jackson.
