By Ria Fernandez The Manila Police District-Public Information Office (MPD-PIO) released an advisory on road closures, alternative routes, and parking areas from October 31 to November 4, 2018. (Image from Manila Police District Facebook page | Manila Bulletin) From 10 p.m. on Oct. 31 umtil Nov. 4, the following roads will be closed to traffic: • Stretch of Aurora Boulevard from Dimasalang to Rizal Avenue • Stretch of Dimasalang from Makiling to Blumentritt • Stretch of P. Guevarra from Cavite to Pampanga • Stretch of Blumentritt from A. Bonifacio to P. Guevarra • Stretch of Retiro from Dimasalang to Blumentritt Extension • Stretch of Leonor Rivera from Cavite to Aurora Boulevard The following will serve as alternatives routes for jeepneys bound for Manila North Cemetery: • From Rizal Avenue or Blumentritt to Cavite, right L. Rivera or Isagani, right Antipolo to point of destination • From Amoranto Street in Quezon City, right Calavite, right Bonifacio to point of destination (loading and unloading before Amoranto or Calavite) • From Dimasalang, right Makiling, right Maceda to point of destination (loading and unloading after Maceda or Makiling) For jeepneys bound for La Loma and Chinese Cemeteries, alternate routes are as follows: • From España to AH Lacson, Tayuman, Blumentritt from Cavite to Aurora Boulevard then take either Rizal Avenue or JA Santos • From Quiapo, Sta. Cruz, Tondo, Caloocan to JA Santos or Rizal Avenue Extension Additionally, the following roads are also open as alternative routes for PUJs and other vehicles: From Blumentritt • Straight-ahead to Blumentritt right Isagani (loading and unloading zone) or right Cavite to point of origin Note: Change of flow of traffic of Cavite Street from eastward to westward (Isagani to Blumentritt) From Retiro • Quezon City proper – westward Retiro Street left Blumentritt, right Dapitan to point of destination. • Retiro/Blumentritt – loading and unloading zone, closed Retiro Manila proper Dimasalang/Lacson • Straight ahead to Dimasalang Street right Makiling (loading and unloading zone) to point of destination Note: Change of flow of traffic of Cavite Street from eastward to westward (Isagani to Blumentritt). For cargo trucks and provincial buses • From Manila and back o To Caloocan, Navotas and Malabon – Take CM Recto, Nicanor Reyes Street to España Boulevard and vice versa or take Road-10 bound north o To Quezon City – Take CM Recto Avenue, Nicanor Reyes to España Boulevard and vice-versa. o To Manila East – Take CM Recto Avenue, N. Reyes Street to España Boulevard right M. Dela Fuente Street to Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard and vice-versa Bound for North Cemetery: Coming from District 4, 5 & 6: • Via Maceda Street – España straight Maceda up to Makiling Street, right Makiling, right Instruccion, right Ma. Clara, left VG Cruz to point of origin. Note: Loading and unloading east portion of Maceda Street between Calamba and Makiling) • Via Dimasalang – straight ahead Dimasalang Street up to Makiling, right Makiling, right Maceda straight ahead to Ma. Clara or España to point of origin Note: Loading and unloading from the west-side portion of Maceda Street between Calamba and Makiling) Coming from District 1, 2 & 3: • Via Blumentritt – Rizal Avenue, straight ahead Blumentritt up to Isagani Street, right Isagani Street, right Cavite, left Blumentritt to point of origin. Note: Loading and unloading Isagani between Blumentritt and Cavite; and change of flow of traffic at Cavite Street from eastward to westward. • Via Aurora/Rizal Avenue or JAS – straight Aurora up to Blumentritt, right Blumentritt towards Rizal Avenue to point of origin. Note: Loading and unloading along the eastside portion of Aurora Boulevard between Pampanga and Bulacan; On Oct. 31, 2018, 10:00 p.m. vehicles no entry, closure of Aurora Boulevard or Pampanga, exit- take Pampanga one-way westward. Coming from Quezon City proper: • •Via Amoranto – straight ahead up to Calavite, right Calavite towards Bonifacio, then right Bonifacio to point of destination. NOTE: • For La Loma and Chinese Cemeteries take the stretch of Rizal Avenue and J. Abad Santos Street as your point of entrance or exit (vice versa). • All vehicles coming from the North (Caloocan and Quezon City going to Pier North (Manila) shall take C-3 towards JAS or Radial Road 10. • All vehicles coming from the North (Quezon City) going to Pier South (Ermita) shall take D. Tuazon or Mayon Street towards España / G. Forbes or to Quiapo as alternate routes. • All vehicles intending to proceed to the North Cemetery, La Loma and Chinese Cemetery both from north and south of Manila shall take the stretch of Rizal Avenue from Recto to City limit (vice-versa). Meanwhile, the following areas are designated as no parking or tow away zones: • Retiro – Blumentritt and from Aurora/Blumentritt to Bonifacio Avenue up to Laon-Laan, Dimasalang from North Cemetery gate to Makiling • Laon-Laan (Bulaklakan) - Dos Castillas, Don Quijote and Ma. Clara, Carola, Aragon • Other streets included in our rerouting NOTE: Left side parallel parking only for one-way streets. • Pampanga St., Rizal Avenue, JAS and Aurora Street and other streets not included in our rerouting Instead, motorists may use these streets for parking: • Craig Street • Sulu Street • Simon Street • Oroquita Street • F.
