Bus driver, conductor jailed after being caught engaged in pot session
A bus driver and his conductor were put behind bars by police Sunday after they were caught engaged in a pot session inside a bus by roving security personnel in Pasay City.
The two were identified by police as Carno Donio, 36, a bus driver of Ceres Transport Inc.; and Louie Ellamil, 29, bus conductor of Victory Liner. Police are still looking for two men identified as Michael Ilagan, bus conductor of Ceres Transport, and Danny Arros, a janitor at Victory Bus Terminal.
Investigation showed that at 1:45 a.m. yesterday, a telephone call was received by Central Park Police Community Precinct from assistant terminal master Arman Santos of Victory Liner requesting for police assistance regarding four men allegedly engaged in illegal drug activity.
Acting on the said report, personnel of PCP Central Park immediately proceeded to the bus terminal and upon arrival they saw that Donio and Ellamil were already under the custody of security guards.
Police said that prior to the apprehension of the duo, security officer Roland Eric Natividad and security guard Michael Yocampo were conducting routine inspection within the Victory Bus Terminal when Natividad saw the four men inside the Ceres bus.
Upon seeing Arroz inside the bus, Natividad called the janitor's immediate superior because he was under their surveillance for alleged using and carrying of illegal drugs.
Upon arrival of Arroz's supervisor, Natividad and Yocampo entered the bus and asked them regarding their activity. None of the four answered and they all immediately tried to alight from the bus. It was then when Natividad recovered three pieces of aluminum foil and one lighter.
Two of the suspects were brought to the Dispatcher’s Office by the security guards but Ilagan and Arroz were able to escape.
Suspects were turned-over to Station Drug Enforcement Unit of the Pasay City Police for proper disposition and will be facing drug charges before the Pasay City Prosecutor's Office. (Dhel Nazario)
