Naga, Cebu landslide evacuees get medical aid

By Minerva BC Newman CEBU CITY – AboitizPower donated medicines worth P464,300 to families displaced by the massive landslide in Naga City, Cebu. AboitizPower Oil Business Unit, Visayan Electric Company, and the Aboitiz Foundation earlier turned over relief and food packs to some 700 families, Dr. Porferia Daclan, Enan Chiong Activity Center (ECAC) camp manager said that most common health problems at the evacuation centers over the last three weeks are colds, cough, fever, as well as occasional cases of diarrhea. “This is most likely because of the congestion and the humidity. While everything is still manageable, we could use all the help we can get,” Daclan said. Dr. Daclan and lawyer Annavie Bacomo-Lapitan, Naga City Mayor Kristine Vanessa Chiong’s chief of staff, personally received the donated medicines at the Naga City Health Office. Lapitan, in behalf of Naga City residents, thanked AboitizPower-Therma Power Visayas Inc. for the much needed medicines.
