Wage increase for Northern Mindanao workers takes effect Nov. 1

By Leslie Ann Aquino Minimum wage earners in Northern Mindanao, mark November 1 in your calendars as this is the day when your salary increases will take effect. (Taylor Weidman / Bloomberg / MANILA BULLETIN) (Taylor Weidman / Bloomberg / MANILA BULLETIN) Based on Wage Order No. RX-20, the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) - Region X granted pay hikes amounting to P27.00. A P35 daily basic wage increase, on the other hand, is granted in the Municipality of Lugait after it was reclassified from Wage Category III to II. For the Municipality of Balingasag, a P34 daily basic wage increase has been approved due to its reclassification from Wage Category IV to III. This means that areas belonging to Wage Category I namely the Cities of Cagayan de Oro and Iligan, and the Municipalities of Tagoloan, Villanueva, and Jasaanwill now receive P365 for non-agricultural and P353 for agricultural. Workers in Wage Category II, meanwhile, shall be getting P358 for non-agricultural and P346 for agricultural. While areas belonging to Wage Category II are Cities of Malaybalay, Valencia, Gingoog, El Salvador and Ozamiz, and Municipalities of Opol, Maramag, Quezon, Manolo Fortich, and Lugait. Those belonging to Wage Category III, meanwhile, shall start getting P350 for non-agricultural and P338 for agricultural. Those in Wage Category III are Cities of Oroquieta and Tangub and Municipalities of Laguindingan, Mambajao, and Balingasag. Those under Wage Category IV, meantime, are set to receive P343 for non-agricultural and P331 for agricultural. Placed under Wage Category IV are all other areas not covered under the above categories, and all Retail and Service Establishments employing not more than 10 workers.
