JOLLIBEE Philippine fast food giant expands its store footprint, opens in London and New York this month (Image by Greco Milambiling) London and Manhattan will soon be frying Chickenjoy as Jollibee, the Philippines’ famous homegrown fast-food chain and Asia’s biggest, will open in the UK capital and in New York on Oct. 20 and 27, respectively. In the UK, the store will open in the district of Earl’s Court, home to the 200,000-strong Filipino community in London. It will be the first Jollibee store in the UK and the second in Europe. The first Jollibee location in Europe is in Milan, which opened last March with huge throngs of Filipinos flocking in from all over Italy and other countries of Europe. The Manhattan branch will be Jollibee’s second store in New York City, which has over 82,000 Filipinos. It will be located on the west side of Manhattan at 609 Eighth Ave., just near Times Square. For its grand opening this Oct. 27, the first 40 customers will be receiving a year's supply of free Chickenjoy—Jollibee’s signature crispy fried chicken—along with gravy and rice. The new Jollibee stores will surely provide Filipinos in London and Manhattan a taste of home sweet home. With over 1,300 locations around the globe, the well-loved restaurant, also known for its popular Jolly Spaghetti, Peach Mango Pie, and Yumburgers, is continuously expanding.
