Region 1's 'most wanted' falls in Cabanatuan

By Mar Supnad CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga -- A fugitive listed in the DILG most wanted person as well as listed in the most wanted person of Region 1 with P150,000 reward on his head was arrested by police authorities in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija. Reports reaching the office of Chief Supt, Amador V Corpus, Region 3 director, said that joint PNP personnel of Region 3 and Asingan Municipal Police Station conducted manhunt operation at Brgy. Vergara Street corner Quimson Extension Barangay Quezon District, Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija which resulted in the arrest of Marty Mandy Tapangco, 42 years old, married and a resident of Quimson St., Brgy. Quezon District, Cabanatuan City by virtue of arrest warrant for murder under Criminal Case No. 3592-K issued by acting judge Raphiel Alazate of Regional Trial Court, Branch 24, Cabugao, Ilocos Sur. Supt. Alexander Aurelio, 1st PMFC commander said Tapangco who is listed as one of the most wanted persons of DILG and Region 1 and has a monetary reward of P150,000 based on DILG Memo Circular No. 2018-136 . He is also one of the suspects in the killing of barangay kagawad Ireneo Braceros in Barangay Arnap, Cabugao, Ilocos Sur on October 17, 2016. “All police units are working together as we continuously step-up on our campaign to eradicate all forms of criminality including intensification of manhunt operations against wanted persons not just within the region but the whole country as well,” Corpus said.
