P1.4-B state-of-the-art gov't center for Imus

By Anthony Giron IMUS CITY, Cavite — The number eight (8)-shaped, state-of-the-art Government Center or new City Hall of this capital city is set to be constructed next year.

(MANILA BULLETIN) The groundbreaking ceremony for the estimated P1.4-billion three-and-four-story building is set on Friday (October 12), the Feast Day of Nuestra Señora La Virgen del Pilar (Our Lady of the Pillar), the city’s queen patroness. Jay Saquilayan, city information officer, said that the groundbreaking ceremony will be made before the inauguration of the new “Ospital ng Imus,” the city’s first public hospital, and the blessing of the city’s first public Grandstand and Track Oval during the day. The site of the five-hectare new government center is alongside the “ospital,” grandstand and the multi-purpose oval on Pedro Reyes Street in Barangay Malagsang I-A. “The fiesta is indeed a grand day as we will see one after the other the groundbreaking (ceremony) for the new, modern Government Center and the opening of the first city “ospital” and new grandstand and oval.” Saquilayan said. The P205-million hospital and the nearby oval and the upcoming city hall construction are the prime projects of Third District (Imus) Rep. Alex L. Advincula and Mayor Emmanuel Leonard Maliksi and the other city officials. The new government center will house the administration and the legislative or council offices. It will be one of the most modern government centers in Cavite once its operation gets going.
