Case investigator PO3 Robin Santos said "Jane" (not her real name), out-of-school youth, was found slumped bloodied on the floor by her nine-year-old brother inside their house in Libis Bukid, Barangay Malinta around 12 noon.
Jane sustained a slit on her throat and stab wounds on her hands, indicating that the girl tried to fight back, police said.
Witnesses said Jane was last seen with her uncle Ricky Castillano, 47, construction worker.
Castillano, who reportedly left the house around 5 a.m., is now nowhere to be found.
Erineo, Jane's father, said his four kids were living with his two brothers, including Castillano, as he was working as an Uber driver.
"The last time I saw my child was on October. He asked me to give her a phone. And today, I saw her already lifeless. It hurts so much," the sobbing father said.
Bobby, Jane's another uncle, said the last time he saw Jane was on Wednesday night as the girl borrowed his phone to play.
"She was kind. She doesn't deserve this, she's very young," Bobby said.
Jane's body was brought to Candido Funeral Homes for autopsy.
Meanwhile, police are now conducting manhunt operation against Castillano who is being considered as a person of interest.
