After his stint on “La Luna Sangre,” budding actor Brian Gazmen forays into the local music scene with the release of the song “Ayoko Nang Makarinig Ng Love Song.” Brian Gazmen Written by filmmaker Joven Tan, it is breakup song with a twist, suited for millennials like the artist himself. “Binreak ko po ’yung rule na ’pag breakup song lagi dapat mababa (ang energy), lagi dapat senti. Ako po, gusto ko parang magpasaya, na kahit breakup song ay masaya pa rin,” he said. Well, not entirely. The singer said “Ayoko Nang Makarinig Ng Love Song” is bittersweet. “Bitter dahil ayaw mong makarinig ng love song dahil naaalala mo ’yung moments mo with your ex. But at the same time, siyempre tapos na so ’wag mo ng alalahanin, move on na, move forward,” he said. “Kasi ganu’n po ’yung mga millennials ngayon. Nag-breakup lang sa isang relationship, parang feeling nila end of the world na.” By the time this article comes out, the music video would have been released. It will also be available on Spotify. A promo tour for the song is in the works. Brian writes songs, too, and hopefully, some of it will be included in his planned full-length album. He plays the guitar and the piano. The artist is partial to the pop and acoustic genres. Asked what his goal is as celebrity, Brian said he hopes to inspire the youth. On his own The aspiring artist wants to carve a name in the industry without preferential treatment. Brian with co-actors on ‘La Luna Sangre’ (Photos from Facebook) “Nag-start po ako from mababa talaga,” he recalled in a recent interview. “Dumaan po ako sa process na hindi lahat bininigay sayo agad.” His family supports his dreams and that helps a lot, he added. Iriga Mayor Madelaine Alfelor-Gazmen always gives him advice. “Sabi niya sa akin ’wag ko lang pabayaan ang pag-aaral ko, magpakumbaba lang ako at ’wag magbabago,” Brian revealed. “Basta palagi daw dapat lahat ng mga tumulong sayo, ’wag mong kakalimutan. Kasi sila ’yung dahilan, kumbaga kung wala sila ay hindi mo mararating ’yan.” In a separate interview with Mayor Madelaine, she said she’s got Brian’s back. “All support kasi first passion ng bata (ang mag-perform). I believe in his talent and whatever may happen ay sige lang,” she said. “Pero ang usapan lang namin ’wag pabayaan ang pag-aaral. Every time nag-ge-guest or gumagawa siya ng show sabi ko, make it a point na it has to be shooting na gabi para nakakapasok ka pa sa school.” Apart from “La Luna Sangre,” Brian was cast in an “Ipaglaban Mo” episode titled “Gatilyo Gang.” He got bit roles in the movies “Seven Sundays” and “Love You To The Stars And Back.” He did theatre work as part of the Ateneo Theater and Trumphets. Brian idolizes Michael Jackson and Usher. He played Corny Collins in “Hair Spray” and he was part of a local Les Misérables production. The mother agrees Brian should go at it on his own. “Actually ang daming dinaanan ni Brian pero gusto ko ’yung ganu’n para malaman niya ’yung rejection,” she said, adding there were number of teleserye and commercial additions which didn’t work out “and that’s okay.” A scene from ‘Ayoko Nang Makarinig Ng Love Song’ In truth, the mayor can give her son more but she doesn’t want to spoil him. She wants to strengthen in Brian the virtue of hard work. Brian likely got his interest in show business from his grandfather, the late Camarines Sur Congressman Ciriaco R. Alfelor, who used to sing and even recorded some songs. The teenager has Ronnie Rickets for uncle. Blade, boy Like a sword beings sharpened, Brian is honing his singing talent by taking voice lessons from The CompanY’s Annie Quintos. He is also undergoing workshops with TV host-actor Ogie Diaz. To look yummy on screen, Brian went on a diet. He has been eating mostly chicken and fish with no rice for three years now. His weight has dipped to 62 kgs. from 85 kgs. An athletic guy, he is into basketball, volleyball, lawn tennis, table tennis, bowling, bike, boxing, gymnastics, football and other sport activities. Brian is a senior at the Ateneo de Manila High School.
