From thousands who joined the nationwide search, to the Top 62 “clashers” in intense one-on-one battles, the final six talented singers are in it to win it today to become the first-ever “The Clash” champion.

Called the Top of the Clash, they are: Anthony Rosaldo, “Ang Matinik na Heartthrob ng Valenzuela;” Garrett Bolden, “Ang Tower of Power ng Olongapo;” Golden Cañedo, “Ang Golden Voice ng Cebu;” Jong Madaliday, “Ang Trending R&B Star ng North Cotabato;” Josh Adonardo, “Ang Cute Crooner ng Cagayan de Oro;” and Mirriam Manalo, “Ang Fierce Diva ng Pampanga.”
In a release, the three judges, namely Lani Misalucha, Christian Bautista and Ai Ai delas Alas, admit they are having a difficult time determining who will be declared the champ as each one is extraordinarily good.
“I’m looking for a singer that can compete vocally with the best singers in the country and even in the world,” Christian said. “I’m also looking for someone who can catch the hearts of the viewers with his voice.”
Ai Ai is on the lookout for distinct voice quality and charisma.
“I want someone who has star quality because eventually, he or she can be considered an idol in this industry.”
Ai Ai has these practical tips to the final contenders on “The Clash:” 1. Pray. God listens. 2. Believe in your talent but believe more in God’s power. 3. Perform like it’s your last day on earth. 4. Do not let fame get into your head. Be thankful. 5. Build lasting friendships.

“It will be a bittersweet ending because The Clashers became our good friends to the point that we endeared them so much like our own children. We will miss them, for sure.”
Dream on
At a press conference, the six singers revealed how the show has changed their lives.
Anthony said, “Ever since I became part of ‘The Clash,’ I saw a new perspective in reaching my dreams. And now that I’m close to it, I’m very grateful for the opportunity that has been given to me.”
Win or lose, he said he will definitely pursue showbiz. He is also open to dabble in acting in the future.
Garrett and Jong, on their part, shared they became more confident of their talents.
Golden said “The Clash” taught her to have faith in self, to be conscious of how she looks and to be kind to other people.
Josh learned how to control his voice and how to deal with bashers.
“The more you are relaxed on stage, the better you can put across the message of your song,” he said. “Also, at first, I didn’t know how to deal with people who say I’m not good, that I will not win the competition. I think it’s all about trusting yourself so that you can prove to them you have what it takes to be on that stage.”
Patience is the key, said Mirriam, an expectant mother.

“At the end of the day, this is a competition. I have to do my best to survive. My child is a blessing and I know he/she will guide me throughout my journey.”
On Sept. 29, the top six clashers will undergo their ultimate challenge to be able to reach the final battle, where only five of them will be left at the grand finals Sept. 30.
