By Erma Edera A Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) chairman was arrested by police Wednesday after she allegedly sent a bomb threat through a text message in National Teachers College in Quiapo, Manila on Monday. The police identified the suspect as Lezlie Anne Bolo, 18, student of NTC and SK Chairman of Barangay 259 Zone 23 and resident of Rizal Street, Tondo Manila. (PIXABAY / MANILA BULLETIN) Police were able to track the number of the sender through Facebook messenger which led to the arrest of the suspect. “May bomba malapit sa mga bag ng college student. Pauwiin niyo na lahat ng mga estudyante niyo, minute na lng ang hinihinitay,” (There is a bomb near the bag of a college student. Instruct the students to go home, you have few minutes left )," the text message read. In a phone interview with the police, the suspect said she was annoyed by the noise in their classroom which led her to send the bomb threat to Michael John John Jacobo, marketing staff of NTC. It can be recalled that NTC received a bomb threat at around 10:24 a.m. on Monday. However, no explosives were found after a paneling operation conducted by Manila Police District’s (MPD) Explosive and Ordinance Division (EOD) at 12:52 p.m. on September 24. The bomb scare prompted the security head of NTC to order the evacuation of all students, faculty and staff of NTC at 11:00 p.m. The suspect will be facing charges of Presidential Decree 1727 which declares as unlawful the malicious dissemination of false information of any threat concerning bombs or explosives. A series of bomb threats hit Manila universities last week.
