VP Robredo not among people planning to oust Duterte --- Palace

Vice President Leni Robredo has not been included in the list of personalities allegedly plotting to oust President Duterte, Malacañang said Tuesday.
Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque said Robredo, the country's second highest government official, is expected not to support any attempt to overthrow the duly-elected President.

"She is after all the second highest elected official. She took an oath to support the Constitution and she should not and she’s expected not to support any unconstitutional means to remove the President," he added. Robredo earlier dismissed baseless allegations linking her to the alleged plot to oust President Duterte. She said linking her involvement in legitimate opposition activities with illegal actions undermine not only the opposition but also the nation's democracy. "Recent allegations by key leaders of the AFP regarding a supposed plot to oust the President would be laughable if they were not so dangerous. For while the claims themselves are absolutely ridiculous, the attempt to delegitimize various opposition groups and personalities by linking them to an alleged extra-constitutional 'plot' is alarming," she said. The military recently claimed that the Communist Party of the Philippines was working with opposition forces, including the Liberal Party, Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, and the groups Tindig Pilipinas and Movement Against Tyranny, in the "Red October" plot to overthrow Duterte. Roque said while Robredo was not specifically named, authorities have gathered intelligence information about the conspiracy involving the Liberal Party to oust the President. Robredo is currently the chairman "Pero ang ating AFP naman po, hindi ko po sila narinig na pinangalanan si VP Leni. So there is nothing unfair, as far as VP Leni is concerned, because she was specifically named," he said. "Pero hindi n’yo naman po matatanggal na iyong intelligence funds na ginagamit natin nga para sa ganitong paraan ay nagsasabi na meron talagang ilan sa mga Liberal Party na nagpaplano na makipagsabwatan para mapatalsik si Presidente Duterte," he added.
