KathNiel’s “The Hows Of Us” (THOU) is the first Philippine-produced movie to cross the R600-million mark at the domestic box office.

Tearjerker movies: From left, 'One More Try,' 'Don't Give Up On Us,' 'Milan,' 'Starting Over Again,' and 'Dubai." Can’t get enough of the “hugot?” Consider the following: 1. MILAN (2004) Claudine Barretto plays Jenny, an OFW desperate to make ends meet. She bumps into Lino (Piolo Pascual), a naïve newcomer on a quest to find his missing wife in Italy who eventually becomes Jenny’s protégé and lover. 2. DUBAI (2005) Claudine plays Faye, a woman torn between two men who happen to be brothers, Raffy (Aga Muhlach) and Andrew (John Lloyd Cruz) in Dubai. 3. DON’T GIVE UP ON US (2006) Judy Ann Santos as a girl on a mission to find her best friend Sabina (Cheska Garcia) who gets cold feet on her own bridal shower. Her mission takes her up to Baguio where she meets Vince (Piolo Pascual), the voice behind a cassette tape Sabina left behind. 4. ONE MORE TRY (2012) Angel Locsin plays a single mother who is willing to go to the ends of the earth just to save her son who is diagnosed with a rare blood disease. When she is forced to reconnect with her son’s biological father (Dingdong Dantes) who is now happily married to an accomplished executive (Angelica Panganiban), their reunion becomes complicated. 5. STARTING OVER AGAIN (2014) Piolo Pascual and Toni Gonzaga play former lovers whose paths cross again years after their breakup that opens up a trove of unanswered questions.
