26 fugitives nabbed in Davao's 'Oplan Kalinaw'

Fenequito Jr. DAVAO CITY – The Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11) nabbed 26 wanted individuals in Davao City after the conduct of their "Oplan Kalinaw" (Operation Plan Peace) on Thursday. Marcelo Morales said the suspects, who have standing warrants of arrest, were arrested in simultaneous operations in nine areas in the city. The suspects were facing charges for various crimes including attempted murder, murder, qualified theft, rape, violation of Anti-Violence Against Women and Children, and violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Morales also said the operations resulted in the identity background check and profiling of 1106 residents of Regina Compound, Bajada, Purok 9, Barangay 8-A Saluroha in Talomo, Golden Hills,  Panancan, Purok Anahaw, Buhangin, Purok Riverview, Barangay Ilang, Buna,Samuel Village, Lizada, Toril, Barangay Talandang inTugbok District and Dacudao, Calinan. He said 110 residents do not have identification cards. "It is our continuous effort to break trough the strategies that the PNP is implementing to bring justice to the victims and protect the innocent," he said. The Oplan Kalinaw is a Joint Area Security Community Service and Protection Operation Plan in the city.
