18 towns and cities in Pangasinan flooded due to Typhoon Ompong

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — There are 18 municipalities including cities in this province that are flooded due to typhoon Ompong.

Based on the situational report submitted by the different police stations to Pangasinan Provincial Police, 18 are flooded composed of 108 barangays.

These are Asingan, Rosales, Sta. Barbara, Calasiao, Manaoag, Dagupan, Bautista, San Fabian, Bani, Umingan, Bugallon, San Jacinto, Alaminos City, Laoac, Lingayen, Alcala, Urdaneta and Bayambang.

Earlier, the police, disaster response personnel conducted forced evacuation in anticipation of flashfloods as a result of heavy rains coupled by the releasing of water from San Roque Dam in the town of San Manuel.

In a text message, Senior Supt. Wilzon Joseph Lopez, Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPO) director, said the forced evacuation started at 5 p.m. Saturday, following the announcement that the National Power Corporation (Napocor) conducted look-ahead spilling operations at San Roque Dam.

Road conditions

San Fabian -- Cayanga Bridge is not passable to all types of vehicles due to eroded bridge approach, Brgy Angio going to San Jacinto is not passable to light vehicles and Tococ National road is not passable to all types of vehicles.

San Jacinto -- Mangaldan to San Jacinto, San Jacinto to Pozorrubio passable to heavy vehicle, San Jacinto to San Fabian not passable to all types of vehicles.

Bani -- Garrita Bridge is passable to light vehicles only.

Manaoag -- Lipit Norte Bridge is closed due to repair.

Mabini -- Brgy Caranglaan is not passable to all types of vehicles.

San Manuel -- Brgy, San Bonifacio, Guiset Sur, San Juan is not passable to light vehicles.

Bugallon -- Sitio Sobol, Brgy. Aguilar bridge connecting Bugallon is passable only to

light vehicles.

Alaminos City -- Barangays Tanaytay and San Vicente are not passable to light vehicles and Brgy Quibuar Bridge is not passable to all vehicles.

Urdaneta City -- Pinmaludpod to Catablan Natl Highway is not passable to light vehicles.

Dagupan City -- Brgy Road Malued, Lasip Grande, Pugo Grande not passable to light vehicles

Sta Barbara -- Brgy Ventinilla National Road, Brgy Minien East, Matic-matic, Malanay Provincial Road are not passable to light vehicles .

There are about 568 evacuation centers with 4,972 families or 19,141 persons.
