Jolo Revilla to return on big screen with brothers in tow via 'Tres'

It’s been years since he was seen in a movie but Cavite Vice Governor and actor Jolo Revilla is finally back in a trilogy no less titled “Tres” co-starring his siblings, Bryan and Luigi.

Jolo’s episode is “72 Hours.” He plays the role of a Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agent. The love interest of his character is a colleague played by Rhian Ramos.
Also in the cast are Albert Martinez, Lani Mercado (Jolo’s mom), Lovi Poe (his ex-girlfriend), Dominic Roque, Ronwaldo Martin, Benj Manalo, Raikko Mateo, Precious Lara Quigaman, King Gutierrez, Arron Villaflor, Neil Coleta, Michael Roy Jornales, Paolo Serrano, Jay Gonzaga, and John Andrew Schimmer, among others.
The director of “72 Hours” is Dondon Santos, with whom Jolo worked before.
“I learned a lot from him,” the actor said. “He’s easy to work with.”
The other two episodes are “Amats” and “Virgo.” Jolo shared his brothers were as involved as he in the creative aspect of “Tres,” which is being produced under their family's film outfit Imus Production.
The public servant revealed the idea to do an action movie was their father's idea, actor and former senator Bong Revilla. They chose the genre to give opportunities to stuntmen who've been without work for some time after rom-com movies dominated the scene.
In preparing for his role, Jolo went on a Keto diet to lose weight. He shed at least 50 lbs across several months.
“Tres” is co-produced with Star Cinema. The movie opens in theaters on Oct. 3.

Jolo said the only thing they can do is to stay stronger for their mom and the rest of the family.
“If she’s going to see us weak, it might affect her,” he said.
As for his love life, Jolo chose to be mum about it as always. He just consistently said that he has high respect for his former girlfriend Jodi Sta. Maria and her family.
Recall that the two admitted their relationship in 2012 but then broke up four years later.
