Twenty three alleged illegal drug personalities were arrested by the police around Metro Manila, with P21.2 million worth of suspected drugs and shabu discovered in their possession during police operations Thursday to Friday morning.
In Quezon City, 12 alleged illegal drug personalities were arrested by the police.
The police identified the suspects as Louie Enguerra, 25; Christian Adaoag 18; Ace Carlo, 20; Jaffar Aboga, 18; Ronel Oliveros, 29; Sonny Abes, 22; Raymart Diaz, 22; Serjio Madrinejo, 48; Junior Jerusalem, 21; Randy Baliola, 30; Anthony Gabriel, 25; and Jeffrey Erja, 33.
Seized from them were eight sachets of suspected shabu, 11 sachets of dried marijuana leaves and buy-bust money.
Arrested drug suspects are now under police custody and were charged with violation of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
In Manila, some P20.4 million worth of suspected shabu were seized by Philippine National Police-Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG) during a buy-bust operation at a hotel in Malate, Manila on Thursday.
DEG director Chief Superintendent Albert Ignatius Ferro identified the suspect as Rey Tomawis, 25, alleged drug dealer of a larger drug syndicate for almost two years.
Members of the PNP-DEG conducted a drug sting against a certain “Rex” who did not appear for the transaction in a hotel room at Mabini Street and Quirino Avenue at around 3:20 p.m. Thursday.
PNP-DEG said that it is usual for big time drug pushers to send someone else to do the actual exchange to evade arrest when a buy-bust operation happens.
In Marikina City, five individuals, including a mother and son, were busted in an anti-illegal drug operation on Thursday evening.
The suspects were identified as Lorena Reyes, 45; Ruel Abaña, 27; Rogelio Camano, 40; Myra Esquilona, 43, jobless; and Henrich Esquilona, 20, all jobless.
Police seized two sealed and opened plastic sachets of suspected shabu, one-piece aluminum foil strip containing traces of the alleged illegal drug, one piece rolled aluminum foil and two disposable lighters with improvised burned aluminum foils in red and orange colors.
About P810,000 worth of drugs were also retrieved in a buy-bust operation in Barangay 37, Caloocan City on Thursday evening.
Police nabbed four suspects – Ronilo Saplad, 54; Ferdinand Andrada, 52; Gerardo del Mundo, 51; and Ilona Gail Cristobal, 42; all jobless and residents of the area.
Retrieved from the suspects were a bag of suspected shabu weighing 80 grams and 19 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 42 grams.
Meanwhile, a sting operation conducted in Barangay Karuhatan, Valenzuela City yielded about P20,400 worth of shabu.
Elements of the Northern Police District Drug Enforcement Unit and Valenzuela City Police Station conducted the buy-bust along Sampaguita Street on Thursday, Sept. 6 at about 9 p.m.
Police identified the suspect as Emerenciano Jimenez, 37, jobless, resident of the area.
Recovered from the suspect were 15 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 3 grams with an estimated value of P20, 400, and the marked money. (With reports from Erma R. Edera, Minka Klaudia S. Tiangco, Hanah Tabios)
