(Jel Santos) Cop jailed for shooting jeepney driver over road rage found dead in his room A policeman who was recently jailed for shooting a jeepney driver during an alleged road rage in Antipolo City last year was found dead with a gunshot wound on his chin inside his room in Quezon City Monday night. Investigators of the Quezon City Police District identified the fatality as PO1 Ronald Pintacasi, 36, currently residing on Agno Street in Barangay Doña Josefa, Quezon City, and is at present assigned at the Manila Police District Holding Section. Report showed that Pintacasi's older brother, Rubencio, together with their brother-in-law knocked on the door of the victim's room after he failed to respond to their calls. Despite several knocks and calls, the two men decided to forcibly open the door. Upon entering the room, they saw Pintacasi's bloodied body lying on his bed prompting them to report the incident to barangay authorities. However, when operatives arrived to process the scene, the service firearm which allegedly went off and killed the victim was missing. Case investigator PO3 Virgilio Mendoza said Rubencio eventually admitted he hid the firearm, as he was drunk and he do not know what to do, fearing that the family of the jeepney driver shot by his brother would avenge his death. Later recovered in the crime scene was Pintacasi's loaded Armscor caliber .45 and one spent shell. Cursory examination on the victim's body noted that he had a gunshot wound on chin which exited to his head. The case was held under investigation to shed light on the incident. Further investigation showed that Pintacasi was released last August by the Antipolo City Police after posting bail for a murder case filed against him. In May 2017, Pintacasi turned himself in to the police for shooting Petronilo Fernando after the latter's driven jeepney hit his motorcycle along Marcos Highway in Antipolo City. Instead of discussing the matter, the cop allegedly shot the jeepney driver which caused his death.
