'Goyo' premiere bodes well for its regular run

The red carpet premiere of “Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral” held at SM Megamall last week was so successful based on attendance and audience reaction that the people behind the film, TBA Studios, Artikulo Uno Productions and Globe Studios, have very high hopes for its opening today in cinemas nationwide.

Cast of ‘Goyo’ (Photo by Lester Ramos) The movie follows the events that happened after “Heneral Luna” focusing on the life of one of the youngest Filipino generals during the Philippine-American War, General Gregorio del Pilar. Regarded as one of the most trusted and loyal generals of President Emilio Aguinaldo, the general will have to face not only the Americans during the revolution but also the consequences of his decisions and actions. The historical epic is a salutation to the fallen heroes of the Philippine revolution and a dedication to the 100th year celebration of Philippine Cinema. Directed by the award-winning director Jerrold Tarog, “Goyo” stars Paulo Avelino, Carlo Aquino, Mon Confiado, Epy Quizon, Arron Villaflor, Gwen Zamora, Empress Schuck, Che Ramos-Cosio, Art Acuña, Rafa Siguion-Reyna and Benjamin Alvez.
