OLONGAPO CITY – Around 10,000 pieces of relief goods were given yesterday to residents of this city by high-ranking officials of Pampanga after Olongapo was ravaged by flood waters brought about by Typhoon Josie on Sunday.

Pampanga Governor Lilia “Nanay Baby” Pineda, her husband Bong Pineda, Vice Governor Dennis Pineda, along with Lubao Mayor Mylene Pineda-Cayabyab and her husband Archen Cayabyab, delivered the relief goods to Olongapo Mayor Rolen Paulino yesterday at the Olongapo City Hall.
According to the lady governor, the residents of Olongapo has been near to the Pineda family’s heart ever since. She added that providing help to neighbors is the most humanely thing to do during times of calamities.
Lubao Mayor Mylene and her husband delivered the goods on Friday and yesterday at the Olongapo City Hall. She said that since this is the birthplace of her husband Archen, she considers Olongapo City as her second home. She said that she visited this city when she and her husband were starting out their family.
Olongapo City Mayor Rolen Paulino thanked the Pineda family for their support, saying that the gift they gave would provide food for the victims of the flood water brought about by Typhoon Josie. He said that the appreciation of the Olongapeños came from the bottom of their hearts.
“Taos puso po kaming nagpapasalamat Nanay Baby, Tatay Bong, Vice Gov. Dennis and Mayor Mylene sa binigay niyo sa amin. Kami po ay naniniwalang mas pagpapalain pa ang mga taong marunong mamahagi, lalo na sa panahon ng krisis at kalamidad,” Paulino said.
