GMA Network’s ground-breaking telefantasya, “Victor Magtanggol,” has Alden Richards in the title role. ALDEN RICHARDS in character (mb.com.ph) ALDEN RICHARDS in character Inspired by the Norse Mythology, the drama series also features John Estrada as Loki, the god of deception; Andrea Torres as Sif, the last wife of Thor; Pancho Magno as Modi, Thor’s son; and Miguel Faustmann as Magni/Magnus, the other son of Thor. In special participation is Conan Stevens as Thor, the god of thunder and owner of the powerful hammer, Mjölnir. Joining the powerhouse ensemble are Al Tantay, Chynna Ortaleza, Dion Ignacio, Lindsay De Vera, Reese Tuazon, Yuan Francisco, and Ms. Coney Reyes as Vivienne, the mother of Victor who got separated from him after a long time. Playing equally vital roles on the series are Eric Quizon, Freddie Webb, Maritoni Fernandez, Kristoffer Martin, and Janine Gutierrez. “Victor Magtanggol” starts airing tomorrow, July 30. • • • Action role for Anne Anne Curtis sheds her goddess-like image to tackle an action role in Viva Films and Reality Entertainment’s latest joint venture “BuyBust,” directed by Erik Matti. Joining Anne in the movie earmarked for international release is Fil-Am, ONE Championship heavyweight champion Brandon Vera. ANNE CURTIS (mb.com.ph) ANNE CURTIS Two international companies have joined forces to ensure “BuyBust’s” international success: XYZ Films, the movie’s sales agent and Well Go USA, the movie’s official distributor in North America, which will start playing in US cinemas starting on Aug. 10. Well Go US is the same company responsible for the distribution of the international hit “Train To Busan” starring Korean actor Gong Yoo. They launched the movie to the public lastJuly 19 during the 21st Annual Superhero Kung Fu Extravaganza at the San Diego Comic Con. “BuyBust” had its world premiere last July 15 as it has been chosen as the closing film in the New York Asian Film Festival.
