EXO's Sehun wins 'Best Maknae' poll

Global fans voted boy band EXO’s Sehun as the Best Maknae, or the best youngest member of a K-pop group. EXO’s Sehun (left) and BTS’ Jungkook (Facebook) /mb.com.ph EXO’s Sehun (left) and BTS’ Jungkook (Facebook) MWave held an online poll for the Best Maknae from July 15 to 21 and the candidates were Sehun, BTS’ Jungkook, SHINee’s Taemin, Wanna One’s Lai Kuan Lin, Seventeen’s Dino and Gugudan’s Hyeyeon. Sehun and Jungkook battled it out for the top position and in the end, Sehun won by a hair. He got 47.8 percent or 563,030 votes, edging out Jungkook by 4,951 votes, who got 47.4 percent or 558,079 votes. Taemin placed third with 2.4 percent or 27,882 votes followed by Lai Kuan Lin with 1.3 percent (15,730), Dino with 1.1 percent (12,967) and Hyeyeon with 0.1 percent (669). The top 5 voting countries are South Korea (20.6 percent), Indonesia (16.6 percent), Vietnam (14.1 percent), Thailand (12.2 percent) and Philippines (4.9 percent). Last May, Vogue magazine named Sehun as the best-dressed man at a Louis Vuitton show in France, calling him “the always chic member of K-Pop supergroup EXO.” This was the second straight year that the magazine named him as such. MWave earlier held a poll to name the Best Leader of a K-pop group. BTS’ RM was voted best leader, getting 52.9 percent or 121,193 votes followed by SHINee’s Onew who received 30.8 percent of 70,592 Votes. Seventeen’s S.Coups placed third with 8.6 percent (19,626), Infinite’s Sunggyu with 3.5 percent (8,134), Red Velvet’s Irene with 2.6 percent (5,919) and Apink’s Chorong with 1.7 percent (3,803).
