Iloilo cops urged to strengthen anti-criminality operation

The latest was a tricycle driver who was shot and killed in broad daylight over the weekend in La Paz district. On Friday, a quail egg vendor was also shot and killed by a riding-in-tandem also in broad daylight while at the Iloilo Terminal Market. Last month, a cop tried to assassinate a fellow cop who was on board his car. “They have to investigate and solve these killings and arrest the perpetrators,” Espinosa said. But it’s not only the spate of killings, but also the two robbery incidents that victimized call center agents. One of them was a 24-year-old lady call center agent who was also stabbed. “Some business process outsourcing (BPO) companies have called our attention and expressed their alarm over these robbery incidents,” Espinosa noted. “We must do more to prevent these crimes from happening. I also suggested to the police for more random checkpoints,” Espinosa added.
