AFP: Detail of all military personnel escorts of authorized VIPs has permanent duration

By Francis Wakefield The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Sunday said the detail of all military personnel as security escorts of authorized VIPs (Very Important Persons) has a permanent duration. Antonio Trillanes. Arevalo said security escorts whose tours of duty have lapsed and has not been renewed were recalled to the General Headquarters for accounting and there are no exceptions to that policy. "Their principals however may file a new request. Upon grant of such request by the Secretary of National Defense, subject military personnel shall continue performing their duties as security escorts," Arevalo said. "In the case of Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, his security escorts were temporarily recalled to report to the headquarters for accounting because their tour of duty has lapsed. His security detail will be restored upon approval of such request," he added. Arevalo said the same policy applies to everybody falling on the same situation as the good senator.
