The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) announced on Sunday the reorganization of its major units and district commanders nationwide.

PCG Commandant Admiral Elson Hermogino cited the professional and career advancement of various senior officers and the vacancies in the agency that resulted from the recent suspension of some PCG officers by the Office of the Ombudsman.
Rear Admiral Leopoldo Laroya has assumed as commander of the Maritime Safety Services Command (MSSC), replacing Rear Admiral Joel Garcia, who was designated as the deputy commander for administation.
Rear Admiral Rolando Legaspi, commander of Surface Support Force (SSF) and Coast Guard District National Capital Region- Central Luzon (CGDNCR-CL), turned over his duties to Commodore Joseph Badajos for SSF and Captain Rolando Lizor N Punzalan Jr. for the PCG district in NCR-CL. He is now the deputy commandant for operations.
Commodore Leovigildo Panopio has been designated as the acting commander of the Maritime Security and Law Enforcement Command (MARSLEC) based in Cavite while Commodore Oscar Endona was appointed as commander of Coast Guard Education and Training Command (CGETC).
Meanwhile, Commodore Allen Toribio has assumed as the new acting commander of Coast Guard District Palawan (CGDPAL).
Included in the personnel movement was the designation of Captain Rudyard Somera at the Coast Guard Resource Management Service.
Among the officers who assumed as acting commanders of their respective districts were as follow: Captain Normando Reyes in Coast Guard District Northwestern Luzon (CGDNWLN); Captain Artemio Abu in Coast Guard District Southern Tagalog (CGDSTL); Captain Ronnie Gil Gavan in Coast Guard District Central Visayas (CGDCV); Captain Roy Echeverria in Coast Guard District Southeastern Mindanao (CGDSEM); Captain Allan Victor Dela Vega in Coast Guard District Western Visayas (CGDWV); Captain Gregorio Adel in Coast Guard Northern Mindanao (CGDNM); Captain Joseph Coyme in Coast Guard District Southwestern Mindanao (CGDSWM); Captain Giovanni Bergantin in Coast Guard District Eastern Visayas (CGDEV) and Captain Rodolfo S Villajuan in Coast Guard Southern Visayas.
PCG said that Captain Allan Corpuz also assumed as the deputy chief of Coast Guard Staff for Operations, CG-3 while Commander Jaybom Calica was designated as new director of Coast Guard Action Center.
