Shuttle company to add 15 routes from Davao city

DAVAO CITY – The Land Transportation and Franchise Regulatory Board XI has told the city government it had no objection to a request of a shuttle company to add at least 15 routes to and from Davao City to various parts of Mindanao.

The city council is set to discuss on second reading this week the request of Metro Shuttle Corporation for the Davao City Council to add 15 routes from Davao City.

The routes include bus and shuttle routes to Butuan, Bislig, Surigao, Cagayan de Oro, Mati City, Don Marcelino, Tacurong, New Bataan, Veruela, Cotabato City, Iligan City, Pagadian City, Siargao, and Tacloban City.

The new certificates are for routes for the following : Davao City - Butuan City via Davao del Norte and Compostela Valley; Davao City to Bislig City via Davao del Norte, Compostela Valley, Agusan del Sur and Vice versa; Davao City to Cagayan de Oro via Bukidnon and Misamis Oriental and vice versa; Davao City to Mati City via Davao del Norte, Davao Oriental and vice versa; Davao City to Don Marcelino via Davao del Sur, Davao Occidental and vice versa; Davao City to Tacurong City via Davao del Sur, North Cotabato, Kidapawan, Sultan Kudarat, and vice versa; Davao City to New Bataan via Davao del Norte and Montevista; Davao City to Veruela via Davao del Norte, Compostela Valley, and Agusan del Sur; Davao City to Cotabato City via Davao del Sur and North Cotabato; Davao City to lligan City via Bukidnon and Marawi City; Davao City to Pagadian City via Bukidnon, Marawi Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Zamboanga del Sur; Davao City to Siargao (Surigao del Norte) via Davao del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Sur, Hayanggabon Port, (Claver, Surigao del Norte), Dapa Port; and Davao City to Tacloban City.

Conrado Baluran, chair of the city council’s committee on transportation, said that the company is seeking a certificate of public conveyance for the new routes.
Mayor Sara Duterte had received the request for the city’s support as early as September last year.

At the committee hearing earlier this year, LTFRB 11 chief Atty. Teresita Dela Pena Yniguez said that the LTFRB in the region had no objection to the proposal.
