Col. Isagani Nato, AFP Nolcom spokesperson.
He said the move is in line with the conduct of joint operations on Marijuana Eradication in the identified target areas, with the help and cooperation of the local governments.
Nato said several sites of marijuana plantations were destroyed -- one (1) at Brgy. Loccong, Tinglayan, Kalinga and another seventeen (17) separate sites at Brgy. Buscalan, Tinglayan, Kalinga.
Said plantation sites were estimated to have about seven thousand three hundred (7,300) square meters in land area, resulting to the eradication of thirty-seven thousand six hundred fifty (37,650) fully grown marijuana plants and seizure of ten (10) kilograms of dried marijuana stalks.
Overall, the joint operation which ended on 10 AM of same day resulted in the destruction of the illegal items estimated to have a total value of P8,722,000.
NOLCOM will continue to provide assistance and support to Law Enforcement Operations being conducted together with other concerned Law Enforcement Agencies. NOLCOM will remain as an active partner towards nation-building, in collaboration with other stakeholders, said Nato.
