PH 2nd most hated country in Taiwan

By Katherine Marajas The Philippines ranked as the 2nd most hated country in Taiwan, the Taiwan Public Opinion Foundation survey revealed, June 17. (Pichi Chuang, Reuters/File) Manila Bulletin Taiwan News reported the results of the poll showing that 52.9 percent of respondents hate the country. On the other hand, North Korea is the most disliked by the Taiwanese with a score of 70.9 percent. Also included in the top five list of Taiwan's most hated countries are China (43.9 percent), South Korea (33.8 percent) and Russia (29.7 percent) respectively. Meanwhile, Singapore got the most liked country at 88.2 percent followed by Japan (84.5 percent), and Canada (82.3 percent). Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) Chairman Angelito Banayo stated that the result of the survey is truly lamentable. "We will continue to strive in our efforts to promote cooperation between the Philippines and Taiwan," he said. Banayo also said that they will still find out the main reason why Taiwanese nationals hate the Philippines.
