One of the many problems that Connie Da Cunha and Geraldine Samson want to answer by bringing the apps to the Philippines is one of easily forwarding excess company resources like food, which would otherwise be wasted, to the causes that most need them. Take for instance the Sandiwaan Center for Learning, a values-based non-profit organization in Smokey Mountain. One of their programs is a technology-based training center to help youth gain the skills needed for secretarial or administrative jobs. Meanwhile, there are Philippine corporations that routinely replace outdated computers with more modern hardware. With Charity Bytes and Albert, these companies can now conveniently forward their unused technology to groups like Sandiwaan. With one donation, conveniently set up through the app’s communication features, they could greatly advance a cause in need, free up their physical storage space, and lessen technological wastage.
